What People Are Saying

“Thank you Ashley Swain. The room was silent and listening as you shared your story and insights. Buyers / procurement / government are often to quick to action or do what we think will fix, without taking the time to listen and hear. Time to hurry up and wait, listen and build trusting and transparent relationships with “Indigenous businesses.”

My Story – The Book

(Coming Soon)

A journey of survival and truth-telling — from overcoming trauma to confronting black cladding in business. Ashley Swain’s upcoming book shares her story of resilience, integrity, and empowerment.

Ashley Swain is a nationally recognised Indigenous entrepreneur, speaker, and advocate who has pioneered Indigenous business leadership across multiple industries. She is the first Indigenous person to found a fuel supplier organisation, reshaping how supply chains engage with Indigenous businesses.

As the founder of the Kuranya Group Ashley established initiatives including, Kuranya Supplies (procurement and product innovation), and Kuranya Kids (mentorship). These ventures reflect her commitment to blending culture and commercial capability into sustainable growth.

Her entrepreneurial journey has delivered innovative solutions that support corporate ESG requirements, including:

  • Dust suppressant products recognised internationally across the mining sector for reducing environmental impact.

  • Road repair solutions that meet strict environmental standards and promote long-term sustainability.

  • Logistics operations that provide reliable nationwide support for infrastructure and corporate clients.

  • Marine industry services through Jabil Commercial Diving, protecting waterways and enhancing sustainability in critical marine sectors.

Ashley’s influence spans infrastructure, mining, council, defence, marine, and corporate industries, where she has partnered with leading organisations to deliver procurement solutions, Indigenous participation frameworks, and cultural engagement strategies.

Her leadership and innovation have been recognised through multiple prestigious nominations and awards, including:

  • Indigenous Business Woman of the Year (2024)

  • Industry Woman of the Year (2024)

  • Supplier of the Year (2025) – Jabil Commercial Diving

  • Woman of the Year (2025)

  • Emerging Indigenous Enterprise of the Year (2025) – Jabil Commercial Diving

At the heart of Ashley’s journey is her unwavering mission: to embed integrity in business, innovate for sustainability, and nurture the next generation of Indigenous leaders while building legacies that last across industries and communities.
